Your rt Bob that was a scary sight when he pulled the pan off. Made me wonder how smart I was for driving MJ so long without servicing.                       Well Joe Marino was my man at Apollo who did the work. He's been working on dyno's from the time he was a youg man and as you can tell, thats been quite a while Grin. He also has a couple of project cars himself.First 2 pics are MJ's trans. Then Joe and his projects.

if $1031.00 put you back on the road and it came with a warranty..I'd say it's a good deal.

A rebuild kit with seals and such is probably on the order of a couple hundred dollars.  If they spent 8 hours labour on it, it probably isn't out of line.  Entire rebuilds can be considerably more than you paid.  Of course, there is some variability among markets.

Wow, colors man.... I considered it a miracle when after cranking her up after 20 years, I just shifted in to D and Damned if she didn't move. Put her in R and she moved backward. Never even changed the fluid.

Let us hear all about how what all you have done and how she goes back together. What's it costin ya?

OK, the tranny. This is what one looks like on the inside when the fluid is in real need of change. The crud on the pick-up screen was thick and        well cruddy. Cheesy  Kinda like the crud in the bottom of the pan.    The valve bodies are not supose to be gold colored, it shld be the silvery color of the gasket sill plate.      You can see where the front seal plate sat in one position for several years.      Hoping to get MJ back Wed or Thur.

Haven't changed the fluids yet, but that is next weeks doings Wink  We have a fun little video of what happens on your 1st 30mile road trip. I still have to upload it however. It shows why you shouldn't let a couple of Hillbillies from Missouri test run a car before you think about what could happen. Cheesy Roll Eyes Shocked Cheesy

HuhWait a minute,. didn't you just spend good money on a Thrush mufflers to make her sound good. Then you turn around and spend more to cover the sound up.  Undecided Huh   Wink GrinThat's what my mama would have said.  Smiley

Sounds great guys. And just to think, this car sat in the edge of a field for 20 years without even being cranked. Have you even changed the tranny fluid yet?  Smiley

OK Gang, My dad (Zizzerman) and I put some carpet in MaryJane to see what a difference in the sounds as we drove. Here is the video, please note the twin 1959 LeSabre Convertibles near the end of the video. It makes it worth the 3 minutes of nonsense you get from me and my dad.  Cheesy Grin Wink Cheesy Grin
